JOB DESCRIPTION: Raveon Technologies is a wireless product development and manufacturing firm that provides wireless solutions to OEMs as well as marketing its own brand of data communication and GPS tracking products.
We have an immediate requirement for a Technical Support engineer who specializes in wireless communications. The successful candidate will be a natural troubleshooter who enjoys working with customers to ensure customer success in implementing Raveon products. This person enjoys wearing multiple hats, is skilled in electronics and data communications, is a people-person, and thrives on overcoming challenges.
You will assist with new-product development as well as be the primary contact for our customers who have technical questions or issues. You will assist in testing and debugging new products, writing documentation for them, and maintaining the technical content on our web sites. As, such you will need to be a fast-learner, articulate, and a good communicator. Because we do business with the DOD, you must be a US citizen.
Responsibilities include:
• Do schematic capture and CAD electrical drawings
• Construct, test, and debug prototypes of new digital and RF circuits
• Create and edit bills-of-materials.
• Assist sales personnel with technical issues.
• Provide our customers with exceptional technical support.
• Understand and master every features and technical aspect of all Raveon products.
• Write technical articles and application notes.
• Maintain the technical content on our web sites.
• Test and debug new products.
• Write user manuals for our products.
• Coordinate and assist with installation of our products at the customer's site.
• Host on-line tutorials and demonstrations of Raveon products.
• Periodic travel around the US to customer sites.

Required Experience:
Experience:
• 5+ years of technical support experience in the data communications industry.
• BSEE or Associates degree in electronics.
• Hands-on electronics experience with digital, power, and microprocessor circuits.
• Hands-on field work installing electronic devices.
Candidates must have experience and strong knowledge in the following areas:
• Wireless Data Communications
• Electronic theory and application, particularly microprocessors and data communications.
• Customer support. Must be friendly, energetic, and eager to help our customers.
• Aptitude to troubleshoot issues, identify workarounds and solutions, as well as juggle multiple tasks at a time is required.
• Advanced writing and verbal skills.
• Self-motivated (takes initiative)
• Ethernet and RS232 serial communications
It is also beneficial if the successful candidate has the following skills:
• Joomla and WordPress web site development.
• GPS tracking technologies.
• Military wireless communications.
• GIS and mapping technologies used in tracking using GPS signals.
• Knowledge and understanding of digital RF communications and principles - especially in a mobile environment.
• Experience with SCADA and radio telemetry systems.
• RF testing including the use of Spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
• Experience with selling technical products.
