JOB DESCRIPTION: GIGAVAC, a fast growing Carpinteria based company, has an immediate opening in its Engineering Department for a qualified Mechanical Engineer.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be a member of small engineer team which is responsible for product development and manufacturing support.
• New product development: Product concepts, prototyping and testing, plastic part design, stamped/drawn/punched part design, and electro-mechanical design.
• Manufacturing development: Fixture design, semi-automation, line efficiency improvement, mfg line support. May require some travel for overseas supplier support.

We are a fast growing profitable 5yr start-up company located in the beach community of Carpinteria – located about 10 miles south of Santa Barbara. We design, sell, market, and manufacture high voltage relays and power contactors.

Required Experience:
• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• 5-10 yrs experience in Design/Manufacturing Engineering
• Solidworks, ProE, or similar 3D modeling experience
• Understanding of engineering mechanics, machine design, materials
• High-vacuum, Electro/magnetic design, Design for Assembly/Mfg, Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
