JOB DESCRIPTION: Clerk Typist

Non-profit agency seeks a Clerk Typist for our fast-paced office in Visalia. The agency provides services to adults with developmental disabilities. In this position, you will provide invaluable word processing support and clerical assistance to the Program Director and other administrative staff.

This is an administrative job, but the clients will be in the same building, so it is necessary for you to be comfortable around adults with developmental disabilities.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
Typing letters and reports
Data entry
Filing
Answering phones

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED
Knowledge of basic office procedures, including word processing
Ability to type at least 40 words per minute

SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED:
Ability to compose business letters and utilize general office equipment operation; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to take messages effectively; ability to learn additional office equipment operation including electronic data processing, practices and procedures; ability to perform clerical work involving independent judgement.

PART-TIME: $7.50 per hour, Monday-Friday. The specific hours will be determined. Opportunities for advancement within the agency will be available.
